THERE'S plenty for the children to do over the summer holidays with Terrific Tuesdays at Hestercombe.
Kicking off on July 26, the first event, ‘Fete Fun’, will follow the theme of a traditional summer fete, with a sheepdog display, duck herding, face painting and competitions you can prepare at home.
You can enter 'Flower display in a teacup', 'best cake design' and 'drawing or painting your favourite place at Hestercombe'.
There's a ‘Wild Art’ Terrific Tuesday on August 2, where you can learn how to make mini monoprints on cartridge paper, model a clay animal, and paint a picture with natural paints made by crushed berries, green leaves and bright flower petals.
The Olympics arrives to Hestercombe on August 9 with races on the Orangery Lawn, sprinting, tug of war, sack and plenty more.
You can make a shiny medal and an Olympic torch to take home with you as well as a Great Britain flag.
On August 16, ‘Animal Antics’ will include a visiting troop of alpacas, tortoises, chickens, guinea pigs and owls.
Gardener Chris can tell you all about the bug hotel, you can make a paper plate hedgehog, a bird feed, and have your face painted as your favourite animal.
Normal admission applies for all Terrific Tuesdays and all activities take place from 10am to 3pm.
