FOUR fire engines were called out to reports of a roof fire Bishops Lydeard.
The incident happened around noon today (Saturday, November 19) on Taunton Road.
On arrival crews confirmed that a fire had broken out in the loft of the property and got to work using eight breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a safety jet.
Crews were fighting the fire from the front and the side of the property, and they were using a triple extension ladder and roof ladder to remove roof tiles to ventilate. They also isolated gas and electric.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "The cause of the fire was accidental from heat transfer from the chimney flue to a cupboard and insulation."
