THE M5 between junction 18 and 21 was closed earlier today north and south bound due to police concern for welfare.
The stretch between Junction 18 M49 and Junction 21 Weston-Super-Mare was cloesd due to police concern for welfare.
Avon and Somerset Police has tweeted a warning to people and advising them that diversions have been put in place.

The motorway has now been reopened.
