Taunton Breathe Easy

EVERYONE certainly knows the importance of eating well and eating healthy food.

However, quite often people with breathing difficulties struggle to prepare a meal, and at some time during a week most of us ponder about the choice for lunch or dinner.

We are bombarded with healthy eating advice three of this, five of this, even seven of this. So at the meeting on January 18 the group welcomed Jeannie and Emma from Wiltshire Farm Foods, a firm that has been in the forefront of preparing ready meals since 1991. The firm has grown over the years and now covers the UK.

Their frozen ready meals are created to ensure they provide a good, balanced diet. Their chefs and dietitian work closely together to create recipes that taste great and are good for you too.

More than 300 different meals to choose from and free delivery every week by the same driver. It was interesting to learn from Jeannie’s talk that now many younger fit and able people are taking advantage of a well prepared product that is very reasonably priced as it fits well with their busy lifestyle.

An excellent website gives details about all of the meals that are available. Thanks to Emma’s efforts in the kitchen we were able to sample two of the meals available and a chocolate eclair.

For many members it will solve a problem, they will see a friendly face every week and have a good choice of meals.

At the next meeting on February 15, Taunton Deane Borough Council will be talking about The Care Act 2015. Hopefully the talk will mention the support for carers that is available.

Breathe Easy is a support group for anyone who has or is caring for someone with breathing related conditions.

Meetings are on the third Wednesday of each month at 2pm in the Baptist Church Silver Street Taunton.
