Minehead National Women’s Register

THE Minehead branch of the NWR (National Women’s Register) met on February 2 and enjoyed a fascinating, illustrated talk about Highgate Cemetery and the notable women buried there.

The NWR is a national organisation that connects women of all ages and backgrounds in local groups throughout the country. Meetings are informal, interesting and fun.

They provide opportunity for promoting confidence, friendship and self-education.

The Minehead group is a friendly and welcoming group that meets on the first Thursday evening of each month. We offer a varied programme of discussions, social gatherings, quizzes and talks.

Coffee mornings (10.30am until noon) are held on the third Wednesday of the month at Toucan Cafe in Minehead.

The topic for the next evening meeting is ‘Which invention has changed the world (or your world) the most?’

Perhaps you are new to the area or are seeking a new interest. If so, please feel free to drop in to a coffee morning to find out more about the group. You will be most welcome! You can also visit the website nwr.org.uk or phone the NWR office 01603-406767 to be put in touch with a local organiser.
