CHILDREN, parents, staff and governors at Old Cleeve First School have said a big thank you to unsung hero Pat Edwards, clerk to the governors.
Pat, formerly school secretary, has been associated with the school for thirty years, and was clerk to the governors until April.
She played a leading role in setting up an area schools country dance festival, an annual event held at Cleeve Abbey, Washford and Halsway Manor, Crowcombe, and will maintain her link with the school by continuing to teach children country dancing.
She was presented with a bouquet of flowers at a farewell party at the Valiant Soldier, Roadwater.
In a further surprise presentation, the final chairman of the governors Netta Hunt was also presented with flowers.
Changes in the school system in West Somerset have seen Old Cleeve school governing body amalgamate with governors at St Peter's First School, Williton, and Danesfield Middle School, Williton.
