THE A358 at Bishops Lydeard will be closed to traffic overnight next week while the final work on the new roundabout is completed.
The roundabout is being delivered by contractor SWH Civils on behalf of Taylor Wimpey as part of a legal agreement linked to the construction of new homes in the village.
The A358 will need to be closed for five nights from Monday, May 15 for the final road surfacing to be completed.
The road will be closed from 7pm until 7am each night, although on Wednesday, May 17 this will be delayed until 7.30pm to allow West Somerset Railway passengers more time to exit the car park following the Antiques Roadshow event. The last train is due to arrive back at Bishops Lydeard at 6.45pm.
The scheme is nearing completion and it is hoped that traffic control will be removed from the A358 before the visit of the Flying Scotsman to the West Somerset Railway on Tuesday, May 23.
