A WOMAN planning a 66-feet abseil off a church tower is hoping her experience on a farm as a youngster will stand her in good stead.
Churchwarden June Best is among a group of people jumping off the tower of St Giles Church, Bradford-on-Tone, to raise money for the roof restoration fund.
And she's hoping more people will join in at the event on Saturday, September 23.
She said: "We need to raise a total of £95,000 for the restoration fund - we've already got £60,000 so the more people we get signing up for the abseil, the nearer we'll get to the total.
"I've never done anything like this before, although I did come down over the hay and straw as a rope as a youngster on a farm."
If you want to join in, you'll need to book a time slot between 9am and 5pm - for details contact June Best on 01823-461339 or e-mail junebest@btconnect.com
