IT'S almost ten years since the last Taunton Livestock Market was held on the Firepool site off Priory Bridge Road.
Since then the site has gradually deteriorated to its current derelict condition.
There's been plenty of talk of what would replace the market on the Taunton Deane Borough Council plot since the cows left in January 2008.
Delays were caused by the global financial crash, but critics claim there should have been some progress by now.
The council's development partner St Modwen submitted a planning application for homes, shops, a supermarket, a cinema, pubs, clubs and restaurants and a smart boulevard walkway.
That was thrown out by the council's own planning committee a year ago.
St Modwen came back with another application earlier this year, but that has still not gone before the planning committee - and is unlikely to do so in the next couple of months.
So, we thought we'd give you a look back at the livestock market and the subsequent plans the developers have come up with.
And hopefully we won't have to wait another 10 years to show you pictures of building work actually starting on site.
