A THIEVING teenager with a taste for booze won't be keeping much of his pocket money over the coming months.
The 16-year-old from Taunton stole crate of Budweiser lager from Asda's Creechbarrow Road store on five occasions and also pilfered a bottle of vodka from Sainsbury's, in Billet Street.
The youngster, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was ordered to pay a total of £75 compensation to the stores after pleading guilty to six counts of theft when he appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court last week.
The court heard that his thieving spree started in April and continued until the start of June.
As well as ordering him to pay compensation, magistrates referred him to the Somerset Youth Offender Panel for a six month contract.
But he was told he would not have to pay a victim surcharge fee as the compensation was a priority.
