A BRAND new attraction is opening in Somerset this weekend - and it's flipping good fun.

FlipOut Somerset is opening at Chelston Business Park on Saturday, October 7, at 10am.

The new £1.5million park will be opened by trampolinist Corey Walkes.

Children from St John's CofE Primary School got to visit the park ahead of the opening for a bounce about.

Jeremy Appiah, general manager, said that bringing the new site to the community is very important to him.

"We've tried to do everything involving as many local companies as possible.

"We've used South West suppliers as much as we can and I think we've ended up using them for around 90 per cent of the work.

"Bringing in the nearby school, which is less than a mile away from us, was important, too. It's great to have the community involved.

“We’re thrilled that a talented trampolinist like Corey is officially opening Flip Out Somerset, particularly as he’s a local lad.

“The finishing touches are being put in place and we can’t wait to welcome the first bouncers to our trampoline park.”

16-year-old trampolinist, Corey Walkes, said: “I’m really excited to be officially opening Flip Out Somerset this weekend.

“It’s great that the county now has its own arena for young people and families to have fun, exercise and get into trampolining.

“I’m also grateful to Flip Out who have agreed to make a contribution towards my costs for the World Championships where hopefully I can bring back gold for GB.”

The opening on Saturday will see a host of activities taking place, including the new park's Ninja mascot.

The park brings together 106 inter-linked trampolines, two Olympic-sized trampolines, a free-running stunt box, a ninja warrior course, slam-dunk basketball, dodgeball courts, and gladiator-style battle beams.
