A WELLINGTON School student has been selected to be a Lord Lieutenant Cadet for Somerset.
The award is given to six top cadets a year from across the branches in the county.
Lucy Hemming was one of those selected this year. She is a cadet through her involvement in the Air Force cadets at the school.
Lucy has already taken part in her first Royal Engagement - she met and accompanied HRH Sophie, The Countess of Wessex, together with the Lord Lieutenant of Somerset, at her visit to the opening of Queen Camel School.
Headmaster, Henry Price, said: “I am absolutely delighted for Lucy.
“It is a great honour for her and a reflection of the highly regarded stature of our CCF.
“Lucy contributes enormously not only to our Combined Cadet Force but also to many other areas of school life.”
