BOOKS, games, toys and Mother’s Day treats have been presented to a new parent and toddler group opening in Taunton.

The group, which will meet at the newly refurbished Taunton Link Centre when it opens after Easter, was invited to Asda to pick up some surprise goodies.

Mary Ulrico, the Asda Taunton community life champion, handed over a fantastic selection of Asda George books, games, toys and activities to the group to recognise all the great work that the Link Centre does for mums, dads, parents and toddlers in the area.

The centre provides access to advisers from local services including housing and the NHS, as well as holding community events and activity days.

Somerset County Gazette:

Locals are invited to pop in for a cup of coffee or tea and sit in the garden on sunny days enjoying the flowers cultivated by the centre’s garden club.

Mary Ulrico, community life champion at Asda Taunton, said: “Ahead of Mother’s Day, we wanted to acknowledge the great work the centre does for amazing mums, dads, parents and children in the local community.

“The new Link Centre will be opening after Easter and will run a great variety of activity days and weekly meeting sessions for people of all ages, and hopefully these toys and games will put a smile on the faces of families and little ones in the community.

Denise Chidgey, from Taunton Link Centre, said: “Mary comes in to the centre weekly and helps us with a whole host of different activities and support sessions.

“On behalf of all the parents and toddlers who come to the Link Centre we would like to thank Mary and the whole team at Asda Taunton for the very generous donation of toys, books, and games that will be enjoyed by children of all ages."
