TWO women had to be freed by firefighters after a door handle broke leaving them locked in a room.
One fire engine from Wellington was called at 8.43pm yesterday (March 17) to Rockwell Green in Wellington following a call from a member of the public.
When firefighters arrived the officer in charge confirmed there were two women trapped in a room due to the internal door handle breaking.
Crews gained entry to the property via a ground floor window and gained access to the room.
Crews gave fire safety advice to the occupants before leaving.
