AN Exmoor farmer had to be airlifted to hospital following a farming accident last night (Saturday, March 31).
The male casualty had become trapped underneath a cattle feeder on a farm near Oare on Exmoor and crews from Porlock and Lynton headed to the scene at 8.23pm to try and rescue the man.
On arrival crews got to work removing hay from the feeder and preparing cutting equipment to free the farmer.
The man was released from underneath the cattle feeder but needed to be taken to hospital via air ambulance having suffered hip, leg and lower back injuries.
Crews were stood down at 11.45pm.
