AN EAGLE-eyed member of the Somerset Camera Club spotted this car after it had mounted a signpost near Taunton.
Carol Hawkins snapped the Mini One in Bradford-on-Tone yesterday (April 12).
Unfortunately the driver had not been as observant, crashing near the bridge when approaching the village from the north west.
However, the scene could have been worse as the road sign looks to have saved the blue car from careering into the River Tone.
Posting on the Somerset Camera Club, Carol said: "Bradford on Tone parking facilities are bad, space is a premium local resident has taken drastic measure to guarantee his spot.
"Don't see this every day."
Carol added that she had passed the car on the bridge and had just thought it was badly parked.
However, she turned around in the small car park next to the crash and noticed the sign underneath.
It is currently not known if anyone was injured in the crash, or where the driver was at the time Carol took the picture.
Avon and Somerset Police have been contacted for further information.
