THE sunshine has returned to the county - and with it comes details of the 2018 Somerset Show.

Relaunched in 2016 at Taunton Racecourse, the County Gazette’s Somerset Show has fast become one of the highlights of the summer calendar, bringing thousands together for a day of fun, celebrating all that is good about our county.

From food to fairground rides and motor dealers to music, this year’s show - on Sunday, July 8 from 10am to 4pm - promises to have something for everyone - and best of it, entry is completely free of charge.

County Gazette editor Paul Jones said: “The Somerset Show has grown into a huge event and we are very proud to be staging it once again.

“It is wonderful to be able to put on an event, with free entry, for people of our county to come together and enjoy some of the delights of Somerset.”

Already confirmed for the event is a funfair, including a range of rides for youngsters, face painting, a myriad of food offerings, alongside stalls from the likes of the Somerset Wildlife Trust, the Donkey Sanctuary and dealers like Somerset County Cars and Rowcliffe’s of Taunton showing off their best vehicles.

  • And It is not too late to book a trade stand at the event.
