BUDDING doctors, dentists and vets from Richard Huish College have set their sights on their futures. 

Twelve students from the college have received offers from a variety of universities. 

Seven Huish students have received offers to study medicine.

From The Castle School, Charlotte Smith has been awarded a place to read Medicine at Oxford University. Amelia Davies and Rosie Meakins, former Heathfield Community School pupils, are celebrating after both receiving offers from Brighton and Sussex Medical School.

Former Kings College student, Elizabeth Burger De Fremol, has an offer from Cardiff University. Samadhi Alagoda, former Bishop Fox’s pupil, and Charlotte Bird, former Huish Episcopi pupil, both received offers from Liverpool University.

Michelle Chan has been selected to join the first cohort at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) on a new Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery taught by Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, taught in Malta.   

Three students have received offers to study veterinary science. Elisha Stuckey, former Uffculme School pupil has received an offer from Liverpool. Heading to Surrey University is Ruth Shackleton, former Kingsmead School pupil and Clara Higginson, former Heathfield Community School pupil.

Two students have received offers to study dentistry. Jamie Everett, former The Castle School pupil has an offer from Cardiff, and from Taunton School, Edward Stock, has an offer from Bristol.

Principal, John Abbott, said: “I am delighted that we have so many students who have been offered places on these highly competitive and academic university courses.

"It is down to their hard work and determination and the help of staff here at Huish that they have these exciting offers on the table.

"We wish them all the best in their exams.”
