I AM absolutely disgusted with Cllr Wedderkopp’s letter (‘Planning system is in developers’ pockets’, Postbag, May 24).
The Planning Committeee has to make decisions based on the facts before them, objections, if any from members of the public, comments by parish or town councils and take into account the professional advice from the Deane Planning Officers and the solicitor to the council.
All members and substitutes have to attend planning training before attending as committee members.

Cllr Wedderkopp would be of no use on the committee as he would lay down at the first protester to say “boo”.
Votes before common sense would be his mandate.
When reading through the article, one can see it is not about planning, more of a political rant.
