COLOURFUL knitted creations are appearing around Taunton

Crafty residents have been putting their knitting needles to good use to "yarn-bomb" the town.

The phenomenon started in 2015 as part of Taunton Live Arts Festival. GoCreate started the trend which quickly caught on around the town.

This year's theme of Taunton Live Arts Festival is 'When Worlds Collide’.

Knitting groups from across the county showcase their identity and beliefs through their artwork with a diverse, humorous and thought provoking displays.

Visitors walking through Bath Place will see beautiful knitted flowers and bees strewn across gates at Pitcher and Piano and diners entering the Cosy Club will see red poppies, knitted by The Bishops Lydeard Yarnbombers which are a tribute to the fallen soldiers of the First World War.

Taunton Live Arts Festival is set to kick off on July 1 and the town will be covered in colourful knitted creations.
