A QUALIFIED commercial artist still gets her paint brushes out every day - at the grand age of 100.
Jean Humphreys celebrated her landmark birthday on Monday of last week with family and friends at Netherclay House residential care home, Bishop's Hull, where she now lives.
She was born in Cheshire and lived in Lancashire, Yorkshire and Hertfordshire before moving to the Taunton area to be closer to her son, Tony, and daughter-in-law, Rose, four years ago.
She moved into Netherclay House in May 2016 and is an active member of Bishop's Hull Art Group.
As a young woman, Mrs Humphreys trained as a commercial artist at Liverpool School of Art.
She has worked in watercolours, produced etchings for many years and still paints every day.
During the Second World War, she worked as a qualified sick children's nurse.
