THE summer heatwave has produced a stellar season for sunflower fans around the county - and we want to see your best efforts.
Gardeners are beginning to see the benefits of their efforts, which have been boosted by the summer sun.
Among them is three-year-old Purple Jones, who has seen the sunflowers she planted earlier this year in her Bishop’s Hull garden, thrive.
Mum Jamie said: “We sowed our seeds in the spring and it’s been amazing to watch our sunflowers grow.
“We’ve measured one of them to be around 9ft tall - and it hasn’t finished growing yet.
“Another is at the 8ft mark and has flowered.”
Can you beat 9ft?
We want to see more of your efforts and bring some sunshine to the pages of the County Gazette.
Email pictures of your sunflowers to newsdesk@countygazette.co.uk.
We might even find a little prize for the person who grows the tallest...
