COURT FIELDS COMMUNITY SCHOOL Another Good Year for Court Fields Boys Buck National Trend and Produce Outstanding Results Students and staff are celebrating another good year for GCSE and Vocational courses at Court Fields Community School. Overall 64% of students achieved at least 5 A*-C grades, with 41 of the Year group of 161 (25%) achieved a staggering 13 or 14 higher passes at C or above. This is considerably higher than previous years. Over half (56%) achieved at least 5 Cs or above, which included English and Maths. 97% of Year 11, which was even higher than last year, achieved at least 5 GCSEs and every student achieved at least one pass at GCSE or Entry level.

What made this year particularly interesting was in the outstanding performance of many of the boys. Nationally, boys do not do as well as girls, but at Court Fields the very high grades went to the boys. Students of particular note are: Callum Jones who achieved 14 high grades (5A*, 4A, 5B), Tom Littlechild and Greg Mumford who achieved 13 higher grade passes (2A*, 6A, 5B) each. Nicky Wiggins who achieved 13 high passes, (2A*, 4A, 6B), Head Boy and Head Girl Charlie Bragg and Naomi Fox also did very well with Charlie achieving 1A*, 5A, 6B and Naomi achieving 1A*, 1A and 11B. In amongst all of these boys there was outstanding achievement from Naomi Lee who achieved 13 higher level passes with 1A*, 9A, 3B. Twins Emma and Laura Quinlan achieved 27 GCSEs between them, which included 3A*, 6A and 14B. Musician Ben Campbell was delighted with his A in Music as well as his 2A*, 4 more at A and 3B.

As well as GCSE we are particularly pleased with the students who achieved exceptionally well on their Vocational courses at East Devon College. Nathan Blackmore, Scott Chappell, Aaron Norris, Scott Pincombe, Lee Waygood and Daniel Westcott worked particularly hard throughout the 2 years attending the college for one day a week and achieved a CITB Level 1 Foundation certificate in Construction. Bradley Wilson also achieved an ABC Level 1 Pass in Motor Vehicle Studies.

Headteacher Elaine Faull said that she was delighted with this year's results. "Results day was a very special day in the way that all the students came in and supported each other. I wish them every success in their future careers and know that these results are due to hard work and continued support from parents and staff."
