WI: The rain never dampened spirits at the August meeting when members visited the wonderful National Trust property of Tyntesfield House. The 19th Century estate was home to four generations of the Gibbs family is packed full of all sorts of artefacts and memorabilia in particular from the Victorian era.

After delicious coffee and cakes the group made their way towards the house and gardens. Each room was explained and enhanced by Trust guides, many of whom knew the property prior to it becoming a National Trust grade 1 listed as they had lived in the area. Then members had a picnic lunch and later made their way home after an enjoyable day.

Our next get together will be at 7.30 pm on Monday, September 17 at The Coronation Hall, Burrowbridge when Derek and Pat Briggs will talk on "A Trek with Altitude" and in October the group will be off out again to Glastonbury to bake pasties etc at Burns the Bread Bakery. So if you're interested in joining the group either come along in September or telephone Ann Bastable 01278 662459.
