TAUNTON MP Jeremy Browne joined in a charity cycle ride at the Manor Nursing Home, in Bishop's Hull, on behalf of the Alzheimer's Society.

He pedalled ten miles on an exercise bike before joining staff and residents for tea.

Mr Browne said: "Staff and supporters of the Manor Nursing Home have collectively cycled the equivalent distance of Truro to Aberdeen - over 1,000 miles.

"The cycle ride was to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society.

"Britain is expected to have more people suffering from Alzheimer's disease in the future because of an aging population.

"I enjoyed cycling ten miles and having a refreshing cup of tea with staff and residents afterwards.

"My grandfather suffers from Alzheimer's disease.

"It is a truly terrible illness which also takes its toll on other family members.

"It is vital to raise money to help people with the disease and to fund research into new treatments and the Alzheimer's Society is a very deserving charity."
