POLICE have named the 48-year-old motorcyclist who died following a fatal road traffic collision near Wellington last week.
He has been named as Martin John Jefferies from Wellington.
He died following the incident on the Wrangway at Leigh Hill on the Blackdown Hills at 6.40pm on Thursday August 30.
His motorcycle, travelling east along the Wrangway, was in collision with a tractor and trailer travelling in the opposite direction, which was laden with straw bales.
Mr Jefferies was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the tractor, a 21-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He was later released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
The road policing unit have issued an appeal for witnesses.
