A WELLINGTON father who died in a motorbike accident has been remembered by his family as a kind and caring man.

Martin John Jefferies, 48, was killed last Thursday when he collided with a tractor as he drove his motorbike along Wrang-way at Leigh Hill on the Blackdown Hills.

Mr Jefferies ran Mobile Vehicle Repairs with his twin sons Adam and Paul. Speaking to the County Gazette Adam said: "He was always a very kind, caring person, always trying to do stuff for other people. He was always laughing, always joking, always smiling. No job was ever too difficult for him or too much trouble.

"He really loved his football and motorbikes and would often go out for a ride."

Adam said Mr Jefferies was very well known in the town and leaves behind his partner of 17 years Sylvie Williams, his twin sons, daughter Victoria and two grandchildren.

His funeral will be held at Taunton Deane Crematorium at noon on Friday, with a wake at Wellington Football Club following the service. An inquest was opened and adjourned on Tuesday, pending reports.

n The driver of the tractor, a 21-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He was later released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
