POLICE in Watchet are looking to expand the town's Neighbourhood Watch network.
A small amount of co-ordinators already exist in the town, but police and police community support officers in the town are hoping more people will volunteer a small amount of time to become co-ordinators for their street, road or close.
PCSO Mark Middleton-Smith is leading the drive to recruit more eyes and ears in the area.
He said: "We are keen to expand the Neighbourhood Watch network already in place and give people the chance to be actively involved in the way their area is policed.
"People will only have to give up a few hours of their time for regular meetings and we know that communities will feel much safer as a result.
"We are particularly keen to set up a scheme on Liddymore Road in Watchet as currently we do not have a co-ordinator in that area.
"Although crime in West Somerset remains very low, hopefully communities will come together and work with us to help the area in which they live remain secure."
Anyone wanting to be involved can contact PCSO Middleton-Smith at Williton Police Station or by calling 0845-4567000.
