TAUNTON craftsman Colin Webb, 40, was determined to build a lifesize Harley-Davidson motorycycle after spotting a wooden toy in County Stores and deciding he could do better.
Asked why he chose to build the masterpiece Colin, from David's Close, said: "I just like tinkering really."
Mr Webb has made other wooden creations such as a smaller bike and a weather vane and has always been good at fixing things, rebuilding car engines and gearboxes.
He told the County Gazette that what he did was all part of the generation he grew up in. He said as a child he was always busy making and fixing all kinds of things, rather than watching television.
The Harley is made completely of recycled wood, apart from the wheel spokes and has all moving parts.
