CLUBS and organisations in Somerset are being given the chance to benefit from the safeguarding advice being promoted by a national child protection initiative.
Three seminars are being held in Minehead, Taunton and Chard, to promote the valuable work of Child-Safe.
The initiative is about improving care, reducing opportunities of abuse and helping parents/carers, organisers or volunteers who are involved in supporting youngsters in such activities.
The scheme is free of charge and provides clubs with a seminar and resource pack to enable them to put in place child protection measures.
Clubs or organisations who would like to find out more information, should contact the Child-Safe Administrator on 01823-358098 or email childsafe@somerset.gov.uk.
Alternatively, seminars are taking place on the following dates; -Thursday, September 6, at West Somerset Community College in Minehead, from 7pm to 8.30pm.
-Thursday, October 16, at Weir Lodge, Taunton, from 7pm to 8.30pm.
-Wednesday, November 28, at Chard Youth Centre, from 7pm to 8.30pm.
