PATIENTS and visitors to Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital are being warned of possible disruption and delays accessing the site over the next four weekends.

The link road across site is being resurfaced on Saturdays and Sundays, September 8 and 9, 15 and 16, 22 and 23, and 29 and 30.

Car parking will also be limited on September 1 and 16, and 22 and 23, so people are being urged to allow additional time if they are visiting or have an appointment on those days.

Phase one this weekend will involve a total closure of the link road between the Parkfield Drive entrance and Wellington Road entrance. During this time the only way to access the hospital site will be via the Parkfield Drive entrance. All hospital car parks will be open as usual.

During Phase two the following weekend (September 15 and 16), traffic lights will control flow between the Parkfield Drive entrance and the Day Surgery Centre. During this time the Duchess 2 car park will be closed, so people should not park there overnight on Friday, September 14 and should use the Cedars multi-storey car park instead.

Phase three on September 22 and 23 will also see a traffic light system in place between the Day Surgery Centre and maternity reception. During this time the Cedars multi-storey car park and Duchess 1 car park opposite the multi-storey will be out of action - people should park in the Duchess 2 car park instead. Again, nobody should park in the multi-storey car park or Duchess 1 car park overnight on Friday, September 21.

Under Phase four (September 29 and 30) the section of road between maternity reception and the mortuary will be under traffic light control. However, this work won’t affect any car parks, all of which will be open as normal.
