MARTHA Wright, aged 11, has won a competition to design a sculpture for a £multi-million development in Taunton.
Martha was among several entrants from North Town and St Andrew's Primary Schools to design the landmark for a quiet area at Firepool Lock.
Gadd Homes, who organised the contest, are building apartments and town houses on the site overlooking the Bridgwater to Taunton Canal as part of Project Taunton.
Martha, of North Town, will see her design re-produced in the grounds of the new scheme.
Lydia and Luke Burton, of St Andrews, were runners-up, while George Binding, of North Town, won a special award for his portrayal of the history of cider making in Taunton.
Louisa Johnson, field sales manager of Firepool Lock, said: "It was an extremely difficult task to choose a winner from the number of entries that were submitted - they were all fantastic, with some really inspiring designs.
"The children all worked very hard and we would like to thank all of them for taking part."
