CANNABIS plants, measuring more than 15ft, were found growing a wooded area in Shapwick.

Last week police seized 22 plants growing in a clearing outside Ashcott Road, close to the RSPB site at Ham Wall.

An investigation is underway to find whoever is responsible for cultivating the plants.

PC Tim Rust, investigating officer, said: “This is a significant seizure of plants that were clearly being cared for and cultivated. This seizure has prevented drugs from causing harm in our communities and will no doubt make a large dent in someone’s criminal activities.”

If you have any information or concerns about drugs in your community then call the police on 101 and ask to speak to your neighbourhood team.
