A BRIDGWATER road has reopened early after major roadworks.
Wessex Water has confirmed work has been completed in Durleigh Road a month earlier than planned.
A new 232-metre sewer has been installed as part of a flood alleviation scheme which started on July 16 and had been due to run until November.
Michelle Hancox of Wessex Water, who planned the work, said: “Our sewerage improvement work in Bridgwater has been completed ahead of schedule and we have now re-opened Durleigh Road.
“We’d like to thank the local community and residents for their patience and cooperation while we carried out this essential work.”
