A PARK in Taunton has reopened after it was closed following a 'serious assault'.
Police were called to Mount Street at around 6.40pm yesterday evening (October 18) to reports of a man who had been allegedly seriously assaulted.
Nearby Vivary Park was closed while police carried out the investigation.
The park is open as normal today, with little evidence of an attack remaining expect for a small amount of remaining police tape.

Following the incident, a spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called at about 6.40pm to a report of a serious assault at an address in Mount Street, Taunton.
"One man has gone to hospital with serious injuries.
"There will be an increased police presence while we carry out our investigations and a scene guard is in place tonight.
"Anyone with information should call 101."
Avon and Somerset Police has confirmed enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have taken place.
