A PRIMARY school in Wellington will welcome a new headteacher in January.

Carly Wilkins will be joining Wellesley Park Primary School in the new years.

Mrs Wilkins currently works at Holy Trinity CofE Primary School in Taunton.

A spokesman for the Castle Partnership Trust said: "The Castle Partnership Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of the new Headteacher for Wellesley Park is Carly Wilkins.

"Mrs Wilkins is currently working for The Redstart Partnership Trust and has been the Head of School at Minerva Primary in Taunton and is currently working at Holy Trinity C of E

Primary School.

"Mrs Wilkins is very excited about starting at Wellesley Park and will be spending time in school before she starts in the new year."

The new leader says she is 'eager' to get started.

she added: "It is with pleasure that I introduce myself to you as your new Headteacher. Wellesley Park is a fantastic school and everyone has made me feel very welcome.

"I have worked in a variety of schools in Somerset which have undergone intensive change and have made remarkable improvements. I am passionate about providing high-quality, meaningful learning opportunities for all children so that they can each reach their full potential.

"I believe children should feel welcome, inspired, safe and supported when they are learning.

"They will achieve well if they are clear about what is expected of them and the steps they need to get there.

"I am eager to work in partnership with families and the local community to support our children, enabling

them to develop and flourish – thus making Wellesley Park a school that we can all be proud of."
