TWO teenage boys have been arrested and police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a school in Monkton Heathfield.

Police said a witness called them at 12.20am on Friday (November) and reported that a number of people had gained access to the school.

Officers arrived within ten minutes and found evidence of a break-in.

Two 17-year-old boys were arrested nearby at about 2.30am and remain in custody.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police, said: "Our investigations continue. If you have information which could help get in touch.

"We can all play a part in keeping our communities safe by looking out for our neighbours and reporting suspicious incidents – just like this caller.

"Always ring 999 straight away if a crime is underway, someone’s in danger or suspects are still in the area. Otherwise call 101 immediately."
