GROUNDSMAN Simon Cook is off to Wimbledon to help prepare the courts for the world-famous tennis tournament next summer.
Simon, who looks after the sports pitches at Wellington School, has won a prestigious national award.
He and his team scooped the SALTEX College Cup following an Apprentice style challenge at the NEC, in Birmingham.
They were given a case study that they had to review and present to a panel of experts.
Simon, who is studying sports turf management at Bridgwater and Taunton College, won £500 as well as the trip to Wimbledon.
