BRIDGWATER Town are looking to keep themselves at the top of the Toolstation Western League Premier Division as they face the division's bottom side tomorrow (ko 3pm).

The Robins claimed first spot with a 1-0 win over Brislington, and it's a fixture away to Shortwood United up next.

Town player-manager Dave Pearse said: “We are showing different sides to our game.

"We can turn it on and put teams to the sword, but this year we are also showing an ability to dig in and win tight games.

“It was a close match on Saturday – it had 1-0 written all over it and it was just a case of which team was going to score.

"Fortunately our man of the moment [Jack Taylor] delivered.”

Next opponents Shortwood are yet to pick up a point from their opening 12 matches.

“We are under no illusions - it won’t be easy,” Pearse said.

“It would be easy to look at the league table and make assumptions, but we will have to be on it from the start and make sure we perform properly.”

Town are without Mike Duffy, who is still waiting to discover the extent of a knee injury, and Josh White (foot).

Further ahead, the Robins’ home match with Cribbs, originally scheduled for Saturday, November 24, has been moved to Friday, November 23 (ko 8pm).
