A TOTAL of 52 Somerset households still have black and white TV sets - 51 years after the first colour broadcast of the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
There is one advantage of owning a monochrome television - it will save you £100 a year as a colour licence costs £150.50 and the black and white version is £50.50.
Richard Chapman, spokesman for TV Licensing, said: "Whether you watch EastEnders, Strictly or Question Time in black and white on a 50-year-old TV set or in colour on a tablet, you need to be covered by a TV licence to watch or record programmes as they are broadcast."
