A SPECIAL charity concert is being held in memory of a biker who tragically died nearly seven months ago following a crash near Combwich.

The gig has been organised in honour of ‘Biker Dan’, Daniel Linge, aged 43, who was from Stogursey and died following a collision with a 4x4 travelling in the opposite direction.

The event will be a celebration of Danny’s life and all proceeds from the evening will go towards the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the road safety charity Brake.

It was organised by Daniel’s partner and a group of friends and will feature live music from Molly Cool and the Free Radicals, Charlinched and an acoustic set from Molly Pickles.

The event will be held at Spaxton Village Hall this Saturday (November 24) from 7.30pm until midnight.

Tickets cost £5 in advance (plus an 83p booking fee) and can be booked from eventbrite.co.uk/ebiker-dan-memorial-charity-charity-gig-tickets-51481547695 until November 23.

There will also be a limited number of tickets available on the door for £8.50.

Lara Battersby, communications officer for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, said: “We would like to pass on our sincere thanks to the event organisers for selecting the charity as one of the chosen beneficiaries for Biker Dan’s Memorial Charity Gig.

“Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance operates 365 days a year and, with each mission costing around £3,000, we are grateful to receive this heartfelt support.

“We wish the event organisers and all those who attend the charity gig a fantastic event.”

Joe Fenton, community fundraising officer at Brake, said: “We are extremely grateful to Dan’s friends for going to such lengths to support Brake.

“The funds they raise will allow us to continue our important work, supporting bereaved and injured road crash victims and campaigning for safer roads.”

For those unable to attend the gig but who want to support it, a donations page has been set up in Dan’s memory at uk.virginmoneygiving.com/SomeoneSpecial/BikerDan
