ST MARGARET'S Hospice has a host of fun ways to help raise funds to ensure people facing a life-limiting illness receive the care they need this festive season.

The charity is urging people across Somerset to help pay for Christmas Day at their local hospice, whether by joining a Yuletide fun run in Bridgwater or taking part in some easy fundraising activities at home, school or work.

Its festive appeal aims to raise £26,000 to pay for a whole day of care across the county - including for patients who will be spending Christmas at the St. Margaret’s Hospice In-patient Units in Taunton and Yeovil, as well as those who will receive a home visit from the hospice’s community nursing team.

There will be a fun Santa Dash and Festive Fun Run taking place in Bridgwater on Sunday, December 9.

The 4k course starts at the McMillan Theatre and entrants are welcome to take part in whatever festive attire they can find, whether that is Santa suits, reindeer antlers, elf hats or snowman onesies.

You can also claim a free Great Somerset Turkey Sweepstake kit and if you and your colleagues can raise £100, the winner of your sweepstake will receive a £20 voucher for Christmas turkey or meats from Pyne's of Somerset based in North Petherton.
