CALLOUS thieves have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage at Holford Cricket Club.
The club was broken into overnight during the week with damage caused to the pavilion and machinery store shed.
The criminals made off with anything metal; including two mowers, cutlery, and a tea urn, while a window of a Land Rover was also smashed.
John Sherwin from Holford Cricket Club said: “For years and years we have struggled to keep the club going.
“We won the West Somerset Cricket League last year and morale was high.
“But something like this is a real kick in the teeth for a small club like ours.
“It will cost many thousands of pounds to replace whatever we have lost and to repair the damage.”
