WE all know Christmas is the time for giving, but this year, local estate agent Gibbins Richards is giving a slightly different gift, with a very important message.

A charity single, ‘Just What I Needed Today’, has been released by the business to help raise money for ARC (formerly Taunton Association for Homeless), with Gibbins Richards donating £1 for every share the video receives on their Facebook Page.

The song was written by singer-songwriter and manager of the Wellington branch, Nick Girone-Maddocks, after seeing a group of homeless people in London.

He said: "It inspired me to write this song and I’m so proud that it will be used to help give something back this Christmas."

The track features soloists, Nick, Ben Grant, Levi Holland Alistair Cartwright and Connor Fitzgerald, as well as a backing group made up of the entire Gibbins Richards staff across the Taunton, Bridgwater and Wellington offices.

The video was posted on their Facebook page earlier this month and for every ‘share’ that the video receives, the firm will donate £1 to ARC (formerly Taunton Association for the Homeless), up to £1,000.

The track will also available to download with half of the proceeds going to ARC.

Ben Grant, manager of the Bridgwater office, said: "As a company, the whole team at Gibbins Richards really try to give back when we can, having previously undertaken charity cycle rides, cake sales and ‘tough mudder’ competitions.

"When deciding what charity to support this Christmas, and hearing Nick’s song and the story behind it, we unanimously agreed that ARC was the right charity for us to support."
