THE fairy tale concoction of magic, laughs and songs all come together in Cinderella at the Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre in Taunton.

The Christmas tradition of 'Oh yes it is, oh no it isn't' (16 minutes when you hear the first one in this panto) is as traditional as Christmas pudding.

The panto is very much like a Christmas pudding as everyone in it is an ingredient and each has to bring there special skill to make the pudding taste good from start to finish.

In any panto we have good v evil, the hero v the villain or the good fairy v the evil witch.

The evil which comes with a number of costume changes and sequins is provided by Jamie Jones as the wicked stepmother.

It has to be said Jamie Jones 'out La Rued, Danny La Rue' with the glitz and glamour of his drag act.

His performance brought a touch of Cruella Deville evil to the wicked stepmother which in panto is good as badder is better and over the top is just so fabulosa.

Georgina Hendry as Cinderella brings the 'girl next door' to the production as I am sure all the young girls in the audience could see themselves as Cinders especially when she is transformed into a Princess. Indeed some of the younger audience members came wearing tiaras or dressed like princesses.

Georgina was spot on in her portrayal and brought an extra dimension to her role with her singing.

The comic element, Buttons as played by Sam Stay is the engine of the panto, he worked hard from start to finish keeping everyone engaged with the he's behind you or Hi gang.

It was fun with a capital F and by the end both young and old were members of the Buttons gang.

Louis Rayneau brings his charm to Prince Charming. He is after all the love interest, the reason Cinderella wants to go to the Royal Ball and the key to her happy ever after.

Baron Hard Up is played by Geoff Bradber and he is what they call in the business 'an old pro'. His timing was spot on and he never did too much, he never did too little -he was spot on.

Jess Stephens was Cinderella's Fairy Godmother and she brought a touch of fairy godmother sparkle to the show and was very much a lynch pin to Cinders love story.

Pantomimes are full of oh yes he is, oh no he isn't, he's behind you, boo, boo, hurrah, awwww, corny jokes followed by moans.

In essence panto is a noisy business and what you have on your hands with this production of Cinderella is a noisy panto.

In the world of panto noise is the best thing to hear as mixed in with all the noise is laugher and wonder.

If you can go along to see Cinderella, make a noise and enjoy the show.
