DRIVERS filling up at Asda have been given a new Year boost - a cut in fuel prices.

The supermarket giant has announced a cut of 1p a litre on unleaded petrol and 2p per litre on diesel from tomorrow (Tuesday).

It says the drop in price is down to "continued decreases in the wholesale cost".

The new price means that drivers will pay no more than 113.7p per litre on unleaded and 123.7p per litre on diesel at Asda's filling stations in Taunton and the rest of the country.

It is the seventh fuel price drop Asda has delivered to motorists since October 26 - taking down the price of unleaded fuel by 14p a litre and diesel by 11p.

Asda's senior fuel buyer Dave Tyrer said: "As a result of wholesale prices recently falling we’ve been able to pass these savings onto our customers, giving them a good start to the New Year."
