A YOUNG woman died after being found outside in need of medical attention as the town was coated in snow.
Emergency services were called to the scene, in woodland below the Obridge Viaduct in Taunton, at around 12:45pm on Friday afternoon (February 1).
An ambulance was called for a woman, in her 20s, who required medical attention.
She was taken to hospital where she sadly died.
Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Police were contacted by the ambulance service at 12.44pm on Friday, February 1.
“Ambulance crew had been called to a woman requiring medical treatment having been found in woodland near the river at Obridge, Taunton.
“She was taken to hospital by ambulance, but sadly later died.
“The death is not believed to be suspicious and officers are making enquiries on behalf of the coroner.”
A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said five vehicles responded to the incident, alongside a rapid response unit.
