POLICE have seized a "reasonable" amount of what is believed to be cannabis in a raid in premises near Blackbrook Way, Taunton.

PCSO Sam Bushen has published photos of the suspected drug growing operation.

He said: "The Taunton neighbourhood police team received information on a suspected cannabis grow near Blackbrook Way.

"Plain clothed neighbourhood officers visited the property to make initial enquiries at the address today (Thursday), and after gaining entry found a reasonable sized cannabis factory.

"The offender is assisting us with our investigation.

"Today’s result is an important reminder that (you) the public play an important role in helping our fight against drugs and crime."

PCSO Bushen has appealed for anyone who sees anything suspicious to contact the police or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555111.

He added: "We’re pleased with today’s result and would also like to thank the member of public who called the information in.

"Together we can make the communities of Taunton a safe place for everyone.

"An experience also for my tutee Katie into the world of cannabis cultivation, another experience ticked off the to-do list."
