BETTER known for sunshine and stunning beaches - a storm-gripped Minehead was shown in a different - rather gloomy - light on national TV screens over the weekend.
ITV was in town for the UK Open darts tournament from Friday until Sunday, with some of the world's best talent on show on the oche at Butlin's.
But off screen, it was a rather more unsettled affair, with the gale-force winds of Storm Freya battering the seaside resort.

Last year, the event was hit by heavy snowfall during the Beast From The East, but while this year was certainly not in the same league, it did cause some problems for fans - and presenters.
The tournament was won by Nathan Aspinall, with world number 1 Michael van Gerwen and Somerset's own Gary Anderson both bowing out on Friday evening.
Wellington star Ryan Searle also failed to make the final stages of the competition.
After her ordeal in the storm, Jacqui tweeted that her experience could bring about a new sport.
