AN appeal for witnesses has been launched after a vehicle failed to stop for a police officer near Minehead.
PC Sam Donati, Minehead beat manager for Avon and Somerset Police, said the incident happened at around 10.45am on Thursday (March 7) on the A39 towards Minehead.
In a social media appeal, PC Donati, said: "Around 10.45am today (March 6) this vehicle failed to stop for me on the A39 towards Minehead, overtaking several vehicles in a dangerous manner to escape.
"Sadly the suspect's hiding skills were not quite on point and so the vehicle has now been located and seized.
"However, I am after any witnesses who may have seen the manner of driving, and who may have witnessed the driver getting into/leaving the car, or have any relevant dashcam footage.
Please let me know via private message.
"We have strong suspicions regarding the driver, who is sought for several offences in relation to this, but need witnesses to put them in the driver's seat."
If you have any information about the incident call PC 4389 Sanderson on 101 quoting crime reference 5219049634.
